A silent flexible baidarka

Harvey Golden just published (Qajaqusa ) a report on his new baidarka. Interesting is that he through x-rays (George Dyson, Joseph Lubischer and Chris Cunningham) and close up pics from inside the hulls of museum kayaks have been able to duplicate the aleutic hunters sophisticated use of bone and baleen in the joints of the hull to increase the flexibility and silence the joints - such noice might scare the hunted mammals.
