Deck fittings – super simple

Following the discussion on discussion on deck fittings, Ove Sigvardsson sent a mail with an even simpler, lighter and cheaper method:
"Hello Björn.
Read the post about deck fittings. On my last winter kayak project I tried another method. I like minimalistic solutions and thought that the holes in the deck and tubing in plastic was a bit drastic. Instead I drilled small holes for nylon cable ties, backed up under the deck with a small plywood washer. They have held up nicely, though I would perhaps not lift a fully laden sea kayak in just one line. Almost invisible with black cable ties and a black line.
Regards
Ove Sigvardsson"
