Woke up at five pm of a terrible noice. A gust with gale wind speeds had torn a large part of our old and 60+ ft high ash tree in the garden. A limb with about one third of the bulk was severed at 35 ft height (at the arrow). A pity that strip kayaks are not built from ash - now I have to start building SOF:s!
On patents and copyrights...
In an earlier posting I ranted about economy as a profession and its implications on the society, and received a few objecting views (had expected a lot more ;-).
But now interesting things are happening. Magnus Wiberg (a Swedish researcher currently at Harward) writes an article in a major Swedish newspaper today, that challenges popular opinions on copyrights and patents as beneficial for the society. Maybe there still is hope for economy ;-).
