Cockpit rim

There are many ways to build a cockpit rim. The manual or plans show one or two, as do the pics above: standing strips with plywood flange, solid wood (steam bent) or laminated veneer, laminated in fiberglass and epoxy (maybe be a top layer of carbon fiber for aesthetic value). The rim can be built directly in place or on a mold and glued in place. (the pic upper right is from Ulf Johansson´s site)

During the wait for epoxy to cure there are a couple of small tasks waiting…

Jasså du har ett så fantastiskt bygge, jag släktas på en byggmästare jag med. Kanske det här löser endel problem. Tack för fina råd. Man kan ju försöka och se om det flyter.

Gostaria de confeccionar um caiaque, e achei muito interessante seu modelo, é possível você mandar um projeto desse modelo para que eu possa fabricar um aqui no brasil. mandar via e-mail. Muito obrigado

I do not understand your mail. I have many kayak models, which one are you referring to? Do you plan to build one for yourself or are you interested in starting a production? And, if so, is it one of my available kayaks you are thinking of or a new special design? And the material: wood strip, composite, plastic etc?
