This is where I build up the epoxy coating on deck and hull. One or two coats to fill the weave structure, followed by sanding - followed by one coat to cover the exposed glass fibers, followed by light sanding. Last apply some coats of varnish or two-pot marine coating (clear or pigmented) to protect the epoxy from UV.

Many kayaks also get an adjustable skeg or a rudder, bulkheads and hatches, but all those are described in the manual or on the plans.
