Visited Malmö earlier today for a testdrive with the new Tiderace-kayaks. Leif and Peter at KajakEvent had sent an invitation throught the kayak clubs in the region – first on the 15th, but then I was occupied with other things and now on the 29th. Tiderace are those kayaks Aled Williams has designed after leaving Rockpool and Mike Webb (Mike continues with Rockpools Kayaks – Alaw, Alaw Bach and Menai 18 while Aled moves on with new designs).

Hello, Björn!
Here are some pics of the 'LipLap' Kavat. Launching was on october 24 2007. LipLap is the third of four Kavats built since fall 2004 in Lahti, Finland. The hull and deck is fir and tha kayak weights 18 kg. The retractable skeg works fine. More to read on http://www.kajakki.net/kaapa.php.

Got a mail from Jan-Erik Lundkvist about a Thule that missed the summer season.
Hello Björn,
Thought I would let you know that your plans eventually turn into kayaks - even if certain projects take a lot of time.
Attached are a couple of pics of my Thule, that with a number of interruptions took two years to build.
But then I started building a work station for bead-and-cove machining, producing 16x5 mm strips.
Unfortunately the winter beat me to it, but with only one single day of indian summer I will launch
In spite of the long building time I am temped to build again, this time another model and with your simplified method - so I´ll be back…
Regards
Jan-Erik Lundkvist
