Time to switch the house and shop for a kayak and a tent, this time on the Swedish west coast and southern tip of Norway - mostly in what is to become the first marine national park in Scandinavia: Kosterhavet-Ytre Hvaler. After ten days i will break and go to Denmark for talks on kayak building and meteorology and classes on rescues and safety, and greenland paddling, at Havkajakroernes summer meeting at Limfjorden.
On monday july 28 I am back again and ready to take care of mails and orders (orders submitted from now on will be shipped during week 31).
Have a nice summer with a lot of paddling…
Björn

A mail from Denmark and a bunch of photos of a very nicely built kayak - Annie Juhl´s Black Pearl, launched on July 6 on island Fyn. Photos: Nicolai Ilcus.

Hello! Björn
Have made two tours in my Sport 395, one on my own in a strong headwind. Tricky to keep the course until I found out that sighting slighly off course and paddling one side only was the trick, the other with my youngest daughter - we paddled to Mackmyra dam in Gavleån, also in a strong headwind. Took us almost two hours, and we were too tired to enjoy the wind in our backs on the way home.
But now it will be used as a fishing craft. Feels stable and nice, quite easily built, but sanding the insides was a drudgery! Took me approx 225 hours over a year.

Bo Hagstedt just picked up his new white Black Pearl at Petrus in Tranås, and was treated to a more dramatic first trip than anticipated. (the story on the linked page on Petrus site is in Swedish only)
Hello Björn!
Here is a photo of my new white Black Pearl, build for me by Petrus Johansson, at Petrus Kajak in Tranås. This is the environment where I will take my fist steps in the noble art of kayaking. The first trip though was on lake Sommen in quickly deteriorating weather conditions and ended for me with the first half of a roll, followed by a wet exit - more on this on Petrus site.
Luckily, here we do not get such wind or waves ;-)
Greetings
Bosse
